General Pediatrics

Now is the time to savor every moment.

But that’s not easy to do when your baby is …

Having trouble feeding.
Not pooping many times a day.
Hard to soothe.
Having difficulty sleeping.
Can’t be held easily.
Is uncomfortable in their body.
Seems overly sensitive.
Has musculoskeletal conditions like torticollis or brachial plexus injury.
Having trouble with mobility.
Or is generally fussy.

There is a great way to clear the confusion and get back to feeling wonder!

The help your baby needs.

These issues are signals. From the perspective of the brain, your baby needs more information in order to figure out this new situation of life.

When the world makes more sense their system will calm down.

The information they need comes from sensory input. And the tool that translates sensory input into information is the brain.

This approach uses movement and focus to awaken that capacity in brain.

It starts within their own body.

By connecting with your child right where they are and seeing through the lens of the brain, your baby can make sense of their own body and the bigger picture. The sooner we get them back on track the better, before they’re at risk for these issues to grow.

What does that look like?

It looks a lot like regular baby life. They’ll rest comfortably in your arms or on the table. I’ll move them gently, in a way that wakes up the brain.

I offer customized support. I may gently touch the feet and legs and notice if they’re stiff or relaxed. Depending on what’s going on I’ll offer specific support to their brain’s organization, so it can begin to have more options for movement.

How it works.

This process is typically done in a series of sessions per week. Depending on the child they may need more or fewer sessions. Some are “one and done” and some are more “frequent flyers.”

Each session wakes up the brain to form new connections and make sense within themselves.

Then you can return to enjoying each moment with your baby.

As a Children’s Mastery trained practitioner since 2012, I bring a knowledge of movement and skill formation to create a rich environment for learning.
